How Much Clay?
These links give an idea of the amount/weight of clay you'll need for given size vessel. Very helpful if you are trying for that good size plate or a coffee mug that really holds 8 ounces--or a beer mug big enough for you favorite brew.

Great Instructional or Video resources
Here are some sites and you tube channels I have found useful, no particular endorsements or validation of techniques, just trying to share those that seem to be working hard to share or further the craft:
Sites/Organizations:
- Ceramics Arts Daily: A site run by same name behind several magazines. They force you to register for content, but content is good including lots of videos, glaze recipes, clay guide, all sorts of free how to artticles. They do push lots of high price videos as well, but not too hard to tell the difference, and I am sure some of the paid stuff is good, I am just not that wealth yet--still waiting to be discovered as the next great ceramicist!
- Lakeside Pottery, a studio and resource in CT--see their about us page if you want to know all about them. Site has lots of photos and instructional articles. Including glaze recipes.
